Online workshop: Building a Character with Ramona DeFelice Long

Where: Online
When: 08/06 - 08/12

Sisters in Crime New England is happy to offer members a free week-long online summer workshop on developing characters.

About the workshop:

Building a Character is a 7-day, hands-on workshop to guide writers in crafting well-rounded and intriguing lead characters who can star in a standalone or carry a series. A work in progress is suggested but not required.

The workshop will be held in a private Yahoo group where you can access daily lessons and correspond with the instructor and other students at times that work best for you.

About the instructor:

Ramona DeFelice Long writes fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essays, and memoir. Her writing has appeared in literary, juvenile, and regional publications both in print and online, many with “review” in the title. She also shares her work through literary readings and open mics.

In her day job, Ramona works as an independent editor, specializing in mystery novels; women’s and literary fiction; memoir and creative nonfiction; and short stories. She works with private clients as a developmental editor and through professional organizations such as Sisters in Crime to edit story anthologies. She teaches workshops at conferences, retreats, and online, and visits local writing groups, public libraries, and arts organizations to share thoughts and advice on writing and publishing.
